Terms of service

Last updated: 27 August 2026.

1. Who we are

CP Tuning Tools and CP Datalogger are operated by Caine Performance Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13104244. Our registered office is 48 Abbots Vale, Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria, United Kingdom, LA13 9PA. You can contact us at support@cptuningtools.co.uk.

2. The service

CP Datalogger is licensed Windows software for recording and reviewing supported vehicle diagnostic data. Available features, supported interfaces, protocols and releases may change as the software develops. Vehicle and interface compatibility can vary, so you should check the published requirements before subscribing.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

4. Subscription, price and renewal

CP Datalogger is supplied as a recurring monthly subscription. The current UK price is £30 per month, comprising £25 plus £5 VAT at 20%. The total price and any applicable tax are shown before you confirm payment. Your subscription renews automatically each month using the payment method held by Stripe until cancelled.

5. Payment and invoices

Payments and recurring billing are processed by Stripe. Stripe makes receipts and invoices available electronically. You must keep your billing information current. If a payment fails, access may be restricted while Stripe retries payment or until the balance is settled.

6. Software licence and machine allowance

While your subscription is active, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use CP Datalogger for your own business or personal tuning work. One subscription permits activation on up to two Windows machines controlled by you. You may not share, rent, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, bypass licence controls or use one subscription for unrelated users or businesses.

A machine may be deactivated and replaced through the customer portal once every eight weeks. Support may approve an exception where reasonably required, for example after a verified hardware failure.

7. Digital delivery and cancellation rights

Before subscribing, you are asked to expressly request immediate access to the software and acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel digital content is lost once downloading or access begins. This does not affect rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights where digital content is faulty or not as described.

You may cancel future renewals at any time through the Stripe billing portal in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for unless we tell you otherwise. We do not normally provide part-month refunds, except where required by law. If you have not started downloading or using the software and wish to exercise a statutory cancellation right, contact support promptly.

8. Updates, support and availability

An active subscription includes access to the releases we make available for your plan. We use reasonable care to operate the website, licensing service and downloads, but maintenance, faults and third-party outages can cause interruptions. A limited offline grace period may be available in the application; it is not a promise of uninterrupted access.

9. Responsible vehicle use

Vehicle diagnosis, calibration and testing can cause engine, transmission, emissions, electrical or safety-system damage if performed incorrectly. Use the software only if you are competent to do so, keep the vehicle in a safe condition and comply with road, workplace, environmental and emissions law. Do not interact with the software while driving. Logged or calculated values, including estimated power and torque, are aids rather than certified measurements.

10. Intellectual property

We and our licensors retain all intellectual-property rights in the software, website, branding, documentation and services. These terms grant permission to use the software; they do not transfer ownership.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where payment is overdue, use presents a security risk, or you materially breach these terms. Where practical, we will give you notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. On termination, the licence ends and you must stop using the software.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by unsafe or unlawful vehicle work, inaccurate vehicle data supplied by an ECU or interface, or loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.

If you use CP Datalogger wholly or mainly for business purposes, our total liability arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid in that period, except where the law does not permit that limit.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. We will give reasonable notice of material changes by email or through your account. Continuing the subscription after a change takes effect means the updated terms apply from the next renewal, unless the law requires otherwise.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live. Business customers agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
